If it is not, the same activities and destinations should be a reason to reconsider.
Explore the Galapagos
This is what Ecuador is most famous for. The Galapagos are a group of islands straddling the Equator between the North and South Pacific Ocean. The archipelagos are famous for being the inspiration of a lot of Charles Darwin’s work. If you are interested in wild life and rare species this is the place to go. You will see everything from marine iguanas to the nearly extinct flightless Cormorant.

You can also take a waterfall tour or a simple hike through the woods. However, if you are looking for a real thrill and a once in a lifetime experience then plan a trip when the mountain is acting up so you can see actual larva in real life.
Explore Cuenca city
If the wild is not your type of scene then Cuenca would be a great escape. This beautiful historical town is town to some of the most incredible architectural creations. You also get a chance to explore the country’s more modern side with the numerous restaurants and shopping stalls around. The best part is that you get an amazing view of the Andes Mountains from pretty much all directions.
Take a ride on a Chiva
A Chiva is technically a commuter bus that allows people to get around Quito City. However, over the years they have evolved into cultural icons with traditional bands entertaining commuters thus the ‘party bus’ reputation. It is definitely a unique way to see the city.
Go on the TeleferiQo
While you are still in Quito, you might want to pay a visit to the TeleferiQo. This is one of the highest aerial lifts in the world. It is a great thrill with amazing views of the city and surrounding wild landscape.
Eat your way through the country
If you are in the north make sure to try their various banana delicacies including fried plantains. This part of the country has a lot more to offer in terms of sea food. This includes zesty shrimp and tomato ceviche and Fanesca which is a traditional fish, corn and lentil soup commonly served in Quito. If you are a bit further south look out for roasted pork, yuca and repe soup.
Hang out with some Ecuadorian beauties
Finally, it would be a great injustice to yourself to visit Ecuador without interacting with their best attraction.
