Avoid heavy chemicals under the sun by all measures and follow our simple beauty tips and tricks to achieve your best looks!
Homemade Face Mist
Good looking skin calls for good hydration. Drinking plenty of water is imperative, however cooling off your face and body with a mist has a wonderful effect on the skin. It helps with sunburns, dry and damaged skin and will also cool you off when you are feeling very hot. It is simple and very safe to use. Here is the recipe:
Cooling cucumber mist
- Peel one cucumber and puree it until it becomes very smooth
- Strain the mixture (through a cheesecloth) to squeeze all the liquid.
Add: a ½ cup of rosewater + 2 tablespoons mint juice + 1 teaspoon of lemon juice
- Stir well to blend everything together
- Pour it in a spray bottle (it is advisable to use glass bottle)
Depending on the amount of liquid you need, you can increase the dosage of all the substances separately. If your mixture is too viscous you can add more rosewater or distilled water to dilute the liquid.
Keep it in the fridge if you prefer the water to be cool. You can take it anywhere with you and keep your skin fresh. You can also use it for your face right before applying makeup to achieve a smooth base.
Homemade Exfoliating Body Scrub
If you want to keep your skin smooth and silky it is important to exfoliate regularly. However, in the summer you should be very careful because the skin uses the dead layer as a protective shield. Therefore it is advisable for you to exfoliate not more than once a week and make sure to do this at night.
In order to preserve your tanned skin layer and still have silky skin, we suggest using homemade scrub. It is very gentle and it can be used for all skin types. It is good for your body and your face.
Exfoliating Coffee Body Scrub
- ½ cup ground coffee beans
- a ½ cup of sugar
- ½ teaspoon eucalyptus essential oil
- 2 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon of sea salt
- ½ teaspoon olive oil
Apply the mixture on slightly wet skin and scrub gently for several minutes. You can also leave it on for 5 -10 minutes to enhance the smoothing effect. The oils will penetrate the skin and make it suppler. The combination of these nurturing and purifying ingredients will work miracles for your skin.
Rinse the scrub off with warm water. Once you are done, you can finish it by applying natural oil of your choice. Coconut oil, jojoba oil, argan or almond oil are all great for dry skin nurture, tan preservation, skin tone evening and wounds healing. Well, that is the secret to achieving flawless-looking skin.
Feed Your Skin with Homemade Face Masks
When summer comes around you need to be extra careful with exposing your face to the sun. It is advisable to avoid direct sun exposure by wearing wide-brimmed hats and never leave the house without face cream with high SPF. We suggest you to avoid using heavy makeup to let your skin breath normally.
The hot sun and water (especially salt water) can leave your skin very dry with red spots. These conditions lead to a prolonged state of dehydration that will make your skin more prone to wrinkling. Therefore, besides providing high protective measures, we suggest you to use these homemade face masks to help your skin stay healthy and smooth.
